Emotional Intelligence

Many experts now believe that a person’s emotional intelligence quotient (EQ) may be more important than their IQ and is certainly a better predictor of success, quality of relationships, and overall happiness. Simply, our Emotional intelligence (EI) is our level of ability to:

  • Recognise and understand our emotions and reactions (self-awareness)

  • Manage, control, and adapt our emotions, mood, reactions, and responses (self-management)

  • Harness our emotions to motivate ourselves to take appropriate action, commit, follow-through, and work toward the achievement of our goals (motivation)

  • Discern the feelings of others, understand their emotions, and utilise that understanding to relate to others more effectively (empathy)

  • Build relationships, relate to others in social situations, lead, negotiate conflict, and work as part of a team (social skills)

By developing your Emotional intelligence you can enhance your ability to identify, manage and express your emotions, respond positively to pressure, build positive and constructive relationships with others and foster a level of mental clarity which supports incisive and effective decision-making.

I am qualified in the use of the following Emotional Intelligence psychometrics and assessments.

  • The Emotional Quotient Inventory (EQ-i 2.0)

The Emotional Quotient Inventory (EQ-i 2.0) is the world’s leading assessment tool used for assessing emotional and social intelligence and an excellent way to understand the emotional competencies of an individual.

  • EQi 2.0 Leadership Report provides you with a picture of how you operate emotionally, your areas of strength and potential areas for development. The assessment tool is delivered online, using a secure site and involves responding to 133 statements, taking approximately twenty minutes to complete. Once completed, there are two report types to choose from: the Workplace Report and the Leadership Report, each providing scores in 15 competencies, grouped into five composite areas: Self-Perception, Self-Expression, Interpersonal, Decision Making and Stress Management.

  • EQ360 Leadership Report measures the same fifteen EQ competencies, but combines your own perceptions of your EQ with the perceptions of others who know you well who are 360 degrees around you.

  • Leadership & Emotional Intelligence Performance Accelerator (LEIPA)  - 360º ®

This advanced on-line assessment and development tool identifies an individual’s behavioural and operational strengths plus their development needs to improve their leadership performance. It measures competence in the context of their own role and the culture of the organisation.

  • The LEIPA Leadership Report provides actionable information on desired, compared to observed, behaviours. Uniquely, in a single report, it also correlates this with individual leadership styles in the context of your specific workplace needs.   Based on a 360 model, LEIPA® provides contextual and culture-neutral feedback to identify leadership strengths and development areas.
